A piece of spyware called ‘zero-click’ has been patched by Apple in the impromptu iOS 14.8 and iPadOS 14.8 but the vast majority of Apple devices remain unpatched, including the one that you may be reading this on.
UPDATE YOUR APPLE DEVICE NOW TO AVOID ‘ZERO-CLICK’ SPYWARE
If your Apple device is not updated to the new 14.8 update then you are seriously vulnerable as the new ‘zero-click’ is a piece of spyware that can hack into your devices through a simple iMessage.
The real scary part of this spyware is the fact that you literally do not need to do anything to become a victim, all you need to do is simply receive the malicious iMessage (you don’t have to click any links or even open the notification) and then hackers will have access to your device and sensitive data.
If you are unsure on how to update your device then please read the guide below that we have pieced together.
Here is a quick guide to update your Apple device
- Go to Settings > General
- Tap Software Update and then tap Install Now (or Download and Install)
- Be aware you may be prompted to enter your passcode (PIN), this will be the same passcode you use to unlock the device whenever you go to use it
What to do after you have updated
After you’ve fully updated your device, you can take a deep breath and relax as you have now installed the latest security patch that blocks the new ‘zero-click’ spyware.
